Project Overview
Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, this project brought together a team of educators from across Compas Education to reinvigorate and redesign the online version of the organization’s flagship certification course on systems thinking education for sustainability. This course had to be the equivalent of an onsite two-day workshop, easily accessible to learners worldwide, and meet standards to qualify learners for Compass Practitioner (Level 1) certification.
The Goal
This seven-week facilitated course guides a cohort of learners through key modules on systems thinking tools for sustainability education. Asynchronous learning is complemented by personal feedback on assignments and bi-weekly conference calls. The course is hosted in Learnworlds LMS and includes many embedded interactive learning tools, including Google Suite, Miro, and Padlet. Over time, the team has continually worked to improve the user experience for learners and facilitators alike.
