Electrify Everything Mini-Unit

Client: Action for the Climate Emergency (ACE)

Date: January - April 2024

Summary: I collaborated with the ACE team to create a mini-unit designed to engage secondary students in the U.S. in understanding the U.S. electrical grid and advocating for electrification in their community.

Learning Format: Downloadable lessons and mini-unit

Project Overview

To create a lesson or lessons teachers could use with the secondary students on modernizing the U.S. electric grid featuring resources and content that the ACE team wanted to highlight.

The Goal

The Learning Experience

Five interconnected lessons and educator guides that help students progress from understanding the U.S. electrical grid to engaging in a culminating student-led civic action project. The unit is flexible, allowing lessons to stand alone or combine for a comprehensive overview of electrification possibilities in the U.S.

  • A comprehensive mini unit available for download on their website

  • Individual lesson plans available

  • A Kahoot! to engage students and assess pre-knowledge.

“Gitanjali Learning design was a delight to work with. Her work was always well-researched, well-thought-out, and creative. We are very happy with the mini-unit that was the final product. “
